Accused of sexual harassment Reportedly, on 21 August 2016, a woman accused Aryavardhan of sexually assaulting her at his residence in Rajarajeshwarinagar, Bengaluru. He was arrested on 10 December 2016 by the Rajarajeshwarinagar police. An FIR was lodged against him on the basis of complaint filed by the victim. The woman came to Bengaluru to learn numerology from Aryavardhan. She paid an amount of Rs 1.5 lakh on the condition that she would be refunded the entire amount if the course proves unhelpful to her. Later, she demanded full refund as she found the course of no use to her, but, Aryavardhan refused to pay back the amount. On 21 August, the woman and her husband went to Aryavardhan’s flat in Rajarajeshwari Nagar to seek a refund, where she was sexually molested by him. Aryavardhan was arrested from Poompuhar in Tamil Nadu and was charged under IPC Sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 420 (cheating), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace).
