Namit Shah is an Indian actor. He has been a part of many Bollywood films and Indian television serials as a child actor. He is known for his role as Kabir Jaiswal, in the Disney Channel’s (India) television series ‘The Suite Life of Karan & Kabir.’
Namit Shah was born and brought up in Mumbai. He studied at Mithibai College, Mumbai. According to Namit Shah, it was the day in the mall with his parents when he was recognised by a group of directors while he was participating in the games organised for children. The directors approached Namit’s parents after realising his features which they thought would be helpful for him being on television. Namit’s parents decided to give it a try. In 2009, Namit Shah got the first chance to be a part of an HSBC Commercial which was supposed to be launched in the United Kingdom; unfortunately, the commercial did not air in India. After this, Namit Shah got another chance to share the screen with one of the globally known Indian cricketers Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Namit Shah has appeared in many advertisements.

In 2010, Namit Shah appeared first time in a film titled ‘Break Ke Baad’ as (young) Abhay. In 2013, Namit Shah made his debut as the main character in the film ‘Main Krishna Hoon’ which starred Juhi Chawala. He played the role of Krishna, an orphan for which he was nominated for the National Film Award for Best Child Artist by the Times of India. The producers of this film, Nandan K. Mahto and Promila Hunter, have been spot boy and hairdressers respectively of many popular Bollywood filmstars such as Juhi Chawala, Katrina Kaif, and Hritik Roshan. Katina Kaif and Hrithik Roshan were also a part of the film. Namit Shah made his appearance in the film ‘Ramaiya Vastavaiya’ (2013) as (young) Raghuveer. In 2014, Namit was cast as (young) Nikhil Bhardwaj in the film, ‘Hasee Toh Phasee’ and Vicky in the film ‘Raja Natwarlal.’
According to Namit Shah, he got his first television show ‘Ek Safar Aisa Kabhi Socha Na Tha’ because of the advertisements he had done. Namit Shah could be seen playing different roles in various soap operas such as Shankar in ‘Jeet Jayenge Hum’ (2009), ‘Sapna Babul Ka… Bidai,’ ‘Mata Ki Chowki,’ ‘Mitwa Phool Kamal Ke,’ ‘Fear Files’ (2013-14), Jai Veer in ‘Baal Veer’ (2014), Goldie Ahuja Matric Pass’ (2015), Nana Sahib in ‘Khoob Ladi Mardani… Jhansi Ki Rani’ (2019), Vivaan in ‘Waghle Ki Duniya – Nayi Peedhi Naye Kissey’ (2021).

The Suite Life of Karan & Kabir (2012 – 2013)
The Indian television series broadcasted on the Disney channel ‘The Suite Life of Karan & Kabir’ brought more fame to Namit Shah. He is also recognised by the name Kabir Jaiswal, the character he played in the respective series. The show revolves around the life of two leading characters, Karan and Kabir, twin brothers living in the Raj Mahal Hotel in Mumbai where their mother, Preeti Jaiswal, works as an assistant manager. In an interview, Namit Shah talked about the show and said,
I picked the role of Kabir over another role in a film simply because I love the original show on Disney channel. The shoots happen only for a few months and when they do, they are on the weekends.”

NTV Houston’s founder and President, Navroz Prasla came up with a web series titled ‘Live of Five’ stars Namit Shah along with Khushi Dubey, Devish Ahuja, Ayush Narang, and Sakshi Mhadolkar in the lead roles. The series is a blend of fun, chemistry, and a story about five close friends.
