4-year-old shot dead by dad’s friend | India News

AGRA: A four-year-old child playing outside his house was abducted and later shot dead by his father’s friend in Agra on Saturday. The body, with a bullet injury on the chest, was recovered at 12:30am on Sunday from an isolated area, about one kilometre away from his home.
The accused initially tried to mislead the family members of the victim by helping in the search. It was he who suggested where to look for the missing boy. Police questioned him and he confessed to the crime, said deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Sukanya Sharma.
SHO of Eramddaula police station Vinod Kumar said, “Accused Bunty Kumar, 25, had purchased an illegal weapon two days ago. The weapon was recovered not far from the crime scene. The motive is yet to be ascertained”.
The victim’s father, Babloo Daksha (26), a resident of Shambhu Nagar locality, is a confectioner and was involved in silver trading. According to locals, Babloo had been in regular touch with the accused for over five years. The two had mutual business interests.
A relative of the victim, said, “Bunty was a family friend. It is shocking to know that he killed a four-year-old child who called him ‘chacha’ (uncle). Hours before his arrest, Bunty was actively helping us in the search for Goldie. It was he who later suggested that we look for the boy in Petha Nagri. The child’s body was found in an empty water basin. Goldie was Babloo’s only child”.
