- Vagdevi got the inspiration of learning music from her sister, who used to learn music from guru Balarka at home. In an interview, she talked about this and said,
My sister used to learn music from guru Balarka at home and as a four-year-old, I too used to hum the swaras. This interest convinced my mother to make me learn along with my sister.”

- While studying in school, she started studying Manodharma sangeetam in Nellore along with her sister, where they were known as the “Vaiva sisters.” Her sister was on the list of top 18 finalists on the show Indian Idol 2022, but she got eliminated from the show.
- In an interview, she said that her teachers supported her music a lot. She said that whenever she was late for a class, her teacher would ask her to sing a song and then let her enter. She further added,

- On 18 June 2022, she won the show Telugu Indian Idol. While she was a part of the show, she was interning at Signs Architects & Interiors. On the show, she tried to impress Usha Uthup by singing Aila Aila, but she did not like her performance. After she won the show, it was declared that she would sing in Geetha Arts once she turned professional. In an interview, she talked about her win and said,
I would like to thank the judges, mentors, and all the people for the immense support and love I received on these 15 weeklong journeys of Telugu Indian Idol. My rigorous effort over the past few months has finally paid off with this accomplishment. Geetha Arts has given me a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that is nothing short of a dream come true for me. I’m thankful to aha for making this opportunity-rich platform for so many participants like me.”

- She won a cash prize of Rs. 10 Lakh and a trophy. She gave all the money to her parents and said that they were in charge of spending the money. In an interview, she talked about this and said,
I gave the responsibility of the prize money (Rs. 10 lakhs and an additional Rs. 5 lakhs by sponsors) to my parents. I’ve just requested Rs. 1 lakh for myself and I only got fifty thousand (laughs). But nothing can beat the mazaa and sukoon of spending my sister’s money. Jokes apart, my family knows what is best for me and my job is to focus on music.”
