Lalitpur minor rape case: Absconding police station incharge arrested; NHRC issued notices to Uttar Pradesh CS, DG | Allahabad News
LUCKNOW: A day after a Pali police station incharge in UP’s Lalitpur district and five others were booked for the gang rape of a dalit minor, all 29 police personnel posted at the police station were sent to lines by the additional director general of police (ADG). Kanpur Zone.
Meanwhile, all the six named accused — including absconding Pali station house officer Tilakdhari Saroj — have been arrested.
Confirming the development, additional director general of police, Prayagraj Zone, Prem Prakash, said that Saroj was arrested from near the high court in Dhoomanganj police station.

“First we heard of Saroj in Banda and then in Chitrakoot and later on the basis of surveillance he was nabbed,” said Prakash.
Soon after his arrest, Saroj told newsmen that he was innocent, and a probe must be done by an independent agency.
“I did not run but surrendered myself to the police,” he claimed while talking to newsmen.
The girl, who had been allegedly raped by four people, was allegedly raped again by the SHO of the police station, where she had gone to file a case, officials said on Wednesday.
Taking cognisance of media reports, National Human Rights Commission has also issued notices to the Uttar Pradesh chief secretary and the director-general of police and sought a report within four weeks.
Meanwhile, BSP chief Mayawati said that the government should take strict legal action in the case.
