Raghubar Das Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is an Indian politician. He has served as the 6th Chief Minister of Jharkhand, and is also the first non-tribal Chief Minister of Jharkhand. He is one of the founding members of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). In 1990, he was part of the BJP’s first national committee meeting in Mumbai.
Raghubar Das Joined the Janata Party in 1977. After renaming the Janata Party, he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as a founding member in 1980. Appointed as National Secretary of BJP.
In 1995, he was elected MLA from Jamshedpur East seat of Bihar. Raghubar Das was re-elected from Jamshedpur East seat of Bihar as a five-time MLA.
He was appointed as the Labor Employment Minister of Jharkhand in 2000 after the Bihar-Jharkhand partition. In 2005, Raghubar Das was appointed as the Jharkhand Pradesh President of the BJP.
On 30 December 2009, when Shibu Soren was CM, he was appointed as the Deputy Chief Minister of Jharkhand. In 2014, he was appointed as the 6th Chief Minister of Jharkhand.
23 December 2019 Ko, Das, along with other BJP leaders from Jharkhand, lost their seats in the Jharkhand assembly elections, and Das had to resign as CM, as the BJP could not retain a majority in the state.
