- Rana Pogag is an Indian fraudster who is known for being arrested by his own fiancee, Junmoni Rabha, a police personnel.
- He was arrested by his fiancee after she found out that he was pretending to be a Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) in Assam and taking money from people to provide them jobs in the ONGC organization. When Junmoni got to know about his fraud, she filed an FIR against him and arrested him. In an interview, she talked about him and said,
I am grateful to the three people who came to me with information about him (Rana Pogag) on how big a fraud he is. They opened my eyes.”
- Junmoni and Rana got engaged on 8 October 2021, and were supposed to marry each other in November. Before their engagement, he had lied to Junmoni about his profession, claiming that he worked in ONGC. Junmoni got suspicious when she found out that he was not reporting to his office. Later, she got to know about his fraud, and she arrested him.
- On 5 June 2022, his fiancee, Junmoni was also arrested by the police on corruption charges after two contractors, Ram Abatar Sharma and Ajit Bora, claimed that they had paid Rs 50 lakh and Rs 13.72 lakh respectively to her. She was also transferred to Kaliabor police station. In an interview, she talked about her arrest and said that it was a conspiracy against her.
